The ship repair division can repair and convert all types of vessels and ship sizes. It can accommodate large bulk carriers, VLCCs and even the world's largest container ships. Docks No. 1 and 2 are designed to dry dock vessels of more than 300,000 dwt as well as offshore drilling units such as jack-ups and semi-submersibles. Docks No. 3 and 4 are sized to dry dock vessels up to 100,000 dwt.
With its extensive berthing arrangement and efficient facilities, the ship repair yard will be capable of repairing up to 250 ships annually. The four dry-docks and the whole berthing shoreline are served by 24 long-jib cranes, ranging from 40 to 100 tons. Four of these cranes will have a reach of 100 meters. One of the berths is purposely equipped with a 100 ton crane in order to lift heavy hatch covers from very large bulkers afloat. The 22,000 m2 mechanical and electrical workshop will be equipped with a wide range of machines to carry out even specialized repair work. The ship repair yard is capable of handling in excess of 60,000 tons of steelwork per year. |
